BOOK GROUP NEXT SELECTION – THE LIBRARY BOOK
Join the revived St. Timothy’s Book Group to talk about “The Library Book” by Susan Orlean. On April 29, 1986, 800,000 books were destroyed in a catastrophic fire at the Los Angeles Public Library Central Branch! If you look at the top news stories for that day, you only see stories about the nuclear meltdown at Chernoble. Burning books couldn’t compete. Susan Orlean has written a fascinating book about the fire, the investigation into who caused it and why the fire spread so far and so fast, how the library in L.A. and other libraries work today and personal stories about libraries. Join us on Sunday, October 20th at 11:15 am in the Overby Library – bring a bag lunch
