Life Story Writing Group
Writing your Life Story for your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is not like writing an essay, dissertation, or report. This is a fun thing you can do and share in our group setting and no one is correcting or grading your writing. Weekly, we write our memories and file them in numerological order for safe keeping for our descendants; and there we have our Life Story. As we share our stories, we realize there are lots of humor and laughter in every person’s life! First, write about when and where you were born and other things follow like “Where I went to School” or “How I met my Spouse” or “The Best Day of My Life”, and other life experiences with as many details as you can remember. Being part of the Life Story Writing group and meeting on a regular basis helps us to keep on writing. Also, hearing and enjoying each other’s writings week by week keeps us on track and brings us ideas from other people’s writings.
We are fortunate to have the Life Story Writing Group at St. Timothy’s. The group has been part of the parish since 2008. We meet every Thursday from 9:30 – 11:00 am over hot tea, hot coffee and occasional pastries. We give each other support as we enjoy each other’s writings and readings and our stories stay private within the group. If you are interested in writing your life’s story, you are invited to join us in one or more group meetings at the Grace House library. You can also drop by to observe, hear and experience what goes on. Feel free to bring a friend and non-parishioners are welcome. We will answer all questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you. Any questions? [email protected]
