Susan's Bio |
Todd came to Saint Timothy‘s in 2017. Before that he was the Rector of Ascension Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. Prior to going to Ascension, he was the campus minister for Rice University located out of Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church (Houston, TX). His first placement out of seminary was at Saint Christopher Episcopal Church in League City, Texas.
He loved his time at Seminary of the Southwest, where his first child was born. His wife, Kimberly has been an instrumental part of every point in the journey (from even before seminary). They have three children. He values the regular ministry of the Rector: leadership teams, finances, strategic planning, administration, buildings, teaching, stewardship, etc. He also cares deeply about the vitality of congregations and works closely with our youth to foster connections that will sustain them into adulthood. Finally, he has a techie side and works closely with volunteers to make our livestream standout. |
Susan is passionate about parish ministry and about recognizing the holy in the everyday experiences of our lives. Pastoral care continues to be a love that includes our young children, teens, adults, and seniors. She brings her enthusiasm and experience to worship, children’s liturgy, preaching, and Christian formation. Her desire is to share the Good News of Christ in all the activities of our lives of prayer and action.
Ordained a priest in the Diocese of Massachusetts, Susan served in several parishes in Massachusetts before moving with her husband to California and serving at St. Clare’s in Pleasanton. Susan attended Smith College as an undergraduate, earned her Master of Divinity from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, and continued her study in the area of spirituality at Andover Newton Seminary. She earned her Spiritual Direction certification at Mercy Center, Burlingame. Childhood summers in southern Maine nurtured Susan’s love for the environment and her deep gratitude for all creation. Her love of science and nature lead her to walks on beaches, beside streams and lakes, through woods, parks, and neighborhoods, always with a reverence and a sense of wonder in all that God has created. Susan lives in Pleasanton with her husband Stephen and celebrates her three grown children. |
