It’s a Greek word - επίσκοπος (episkopos) is the word for overseer. In the church, the word evolved to mean bishop. The Episcopal Church is overseen by bishops.
The Anglican Communion — Anglican Churches in Canada, Japan, Nigeria, and across the globe are our brothers and sisters in ministry. With them, our American Church is in fellowship with the Church of England. This collective makes up the ‘Anglican Communion.’
St. Timothy’s is a church in the Diocese of California. The Diocese of California is part of the Episcopal Church USA (ECUSA). ECUSA is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Communion and Blessings Communion and Baptism are powerful symbols for young children. We want to baptize your children and to shape them in our Eucharistic faith. We honor your right, as a parent, to choose the best timing. Should you choose, come to the Altar team at communion and have your kids cross their arms over their chest for a blessing. Or, you can have them put their hand out for communion.
